November 16th

It is hard to believe that a year has gone bye already. It was one year ago today that our little girl Abigail Ann past away to be with our Lord. This whole week I have been thinking about that whole ordeal and I have so many mixed feelings about it all. I know that the Lord was in control of everything and that I or David didn't have too many hard choices to make. We have gone through all of the paper work and read the many cards and we have cried and laughed and our hearts were full of gratitude for all of the people in our lives. We praise our God for all of his blessings towards our little family. He has given us 3 beautiful children; what more can I ask for? As I think about Abigail I have a ache in my heart that I can not describe,I know with time this ache will not be so strong. The Lord is good to those that love him!! (My little Tamar reminded me of that this morning).
As we were looking through Abigail's things we found this poem and it hit the mark.

God, Take This Child......
By Nancy Scott
Sweet child whom we never really got to know,
It's hard for us to let you go.
We waited and we wanted you.
We had so many dreams for you.
We think of smiles we'll never see.
We think of events that will never be.
There will be no first steps and no first teeth.
There is only a void and our own grief.
We planned to take you to places far and near.
We yearned to keep you safe and free from fear.
We hoped to show you much of your new world.
We wanted to teach you as your life unfurled.
It's hard to understand why you, our baby, died.
We feel so numb right now, many tears we've cried.
We have so many questions and no answers seem to come.
We tried so hard to save you; nothing could be done.
God, we stand before you broken-hearted
and ask you to heal these lives that must be parted
from this little one we can no longer hold,
who will always be a part of us, even when we're old.
God, take this child in your arms.
No more can she suffer and harm.
Bless her always and bless us too.
Be with us and help us to make it through,
Amen.

It is so hard to try an sum up a whole year because children do so much in one year, they change so much in that time frame.

Well here is the last child. Nathanael

Nathanael (A.K.E. Ezzie) is a happy - crazy boy. When he first wakes up he has a huge smile (like his dad) on his face and his eyes sparkle like the ocean.

Ezzie loves to go to work with his daddy. Ezzie loves all kinds of tools especially the drill and the hammer.(scary eh?)

Ezzie is very mischeiveous and often is making everyone laugh.

Ezzie has been learning the art of ball hockey. His whole face lights up when the ball comes towards him. He is in the middle of the action even though he is the smallest and the youngest.

Ezzie has learned to ride a bike with training wheels and to make coffee for his daddy (grounds and all!)

Ezzie will be 4 years old in Jan.

So this is our small but great family.

God has blessed us greatly with these precious children. Praised be his name!!
So hear is another brag letter about one of my children for all you that have asked about them.

Day in the Life of Tamar

Tamar is a pleasure to be around, always so eager to help and a contant chatter box.
Tamar loves to sit and read and write. If there is a lap available she will be right there with a book.
Tamar has a heart to help people. She loves to help make things or go shopping for people. Tamar is a Huge fan of school work. She love to sit in her desk and having her books all around her.
This is Tamars first year of gymnastics. She is crazy for this activity. She sits for 1 hour before it is her turn, and she watches everything that the bigger kids are doing. She gets along with her instructor very well.
Tamar loves to swing on her new rope swing that her daddy put up for her.
Tamar has turned 5 years old this last October. She has come a long way in one year.

News about Nathanael later.

Back From a Crazy Summer

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great summer. We here at the vanEyk home have been in a whirl wind for at least 4 months!

Here is a break down:

Micah:
Micah played soccor for the first time this summer, he was very nervous his first day but by the end of the game he did not want to stop playing. We had great coaches and they were great with the kids. Micah has also learn to do alot of trickes on his bike which scares me but he is a boy so thats the way it goes. (and i turn my eyes in a different direction on the more scary tricks). This fall we have signed Micah up for Gymnastics, which he loves and now does cart-wheels all over the house. Micah has started grade one-two this year for schooling. We have also started a few new classes this year as well. Micah is very adverturous and loves to play road hockey and anything that the other boys are doing,( he's in their like a dirty shirt.) Micah as also learned to make coffee for his daddy (Finally no coffee grounds). Micah will be 7 years old this Feb.
Wow how time fly's when you are having fun!

So this is and up date on Micah for all of you that have asked and for those you you who have not asked Don't read all that stuff .

I will do an up date on Tamar then Ezzie soon.

Craziness!!!!

Phone ringing

Me: hello
Mom: What are you doing tomorrow?
Me: school, cleaning, cooking, etc. ,etc,.............
Mom: Do you happen to have a passport?
Me: No. Why ?
Mom: Go get a passport, I want to go to Cuba and I don't want to go alone.
Me: WHAT?
Mom: Ask David if he wants to go to Cuba, and then go get passports.
Me: WHAT????????

So that is how the conversation went . I printed off a form, filled it out, got my mug shot taken, got a signature , and went flying down to windsor. 4 hours later and a pleasent chat with the passport people I was ready to go home and pick up travel tickets.
Wow what a day!

Snow

I did not know that snow could be that much fun. I always thought that snow was pretty to look at but not fun to be in. On Valentines day David and the Kids took me sledding down a small hill. I have to say that I had a great time.
All I have to say is Bring on the Snow!!!

Have a great day.
More pictures.

Uncle Jeff with Tamar.
Our children just love Uncle Jeff.

This was taken two summers ago in a hotel in Collinwood. We had a great time, even though Ezzie stayed behind with Oma.
Just some ramdom pictures.

Tamar is a big help to me.

And old picture of Ezzie.
What a weird spot to play ball.

Oh No!!!

It has happen and there is no turning back. I am no longer in my twenties. This is horrable - this is not fair. This is a major turn in the bend. I'm so sad.
As the day was approaching I could feel the wrinkles lining my face and the gray hairs starting to take over my head. I started to think "I'm not young anymore (as I wipe the tears from my eyes)". I guess I am not supposed to go walking in the rain or jump in the puddles or skip down the side walk singing whatever comes into my head. (which my oldest son Micah would really like me to stop. He said the neighbours are watching). I guess my days in the kitchen singing and dancing are through as well, because only young people do that.
So what do people do when they are classified as not so young any more?

And than I started to think again that I'm really not that old after all. So if you ever come down to our neighourhood be aware that you could come in contact with some one who acts their shoe size instead of their age..
